The "Hammingden Tipteerers" are a troupe of players from or with connections to Highbrook who perform a traditional Mummers play on New Year’s Eve and, usually, the Saturday before Christmas in up to 8 local pubs per evening.

As well as hoping to bring some entertainment to the venues they visit, the Mummers also collect for a local Charity following each performance – typically collecting around £500 per year.

In the process they are of course able to conduct an in-depth survey on the quality of beer on offer.

The Tipteerers script shares many lines with other similar plays around the country, with the odd ad-lib added for topical content.

They differ from some groups in that they use costumes for each part rather than the "tatters" outfits sometimes seen.
